The Lack of Something Makes a Sound is a project created during an internship at the Théâtre de L’Oriental in Vevey, in collaboration with several resident companies.

I explore the use of the body and dance as a means to tell a story outside its original context. How can actors, using only their bodies, suggest a narrative? Does the absence of context, setting, and temporality help the audience grasp the artist’s original intent, or does it instead evoke new interpretations? This body of work includes staged collaborations with actors, inspired by their own plays, as well as an architectural piece titled Rooms, which emerged from my fascination with the ambiguity of spaces that seem to transform from one company to another, adapting to the varying conditions and needs of each team.

The Lack of Something Makes a Sound was exhibited as part of a group show at the Vevey Images biennial 2024. Several images from the project were also included in the collective publication HORS-SCÈNE, published by CEPV in October 2024.
